Art Fenske (1927 - 2008)
Concertina musician, bandleader, Master Barber, and
avid outdoorsman, Arthur
Paul Fenske, age 80, passed away April 17, 2008.
Born in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1927, Art
was destined to play the chemnitzer concertina. He
was founder and leader of the Jolly Coppersmith's
Old Time Band, joining fellow musicians to entertain
crowds in many venues across the Upper Midwest.
For over 40 years, he operated Art's Barbers in Southwest Minneapolis.
Following retirement, Art expressed his love for old-time music as a member of the New Prague Czech
Concertina Club and the North Star Concertina Club.
Art is fondly remembered by family, friends, and
many old-time music fans who enjoyed listening and
dancing to his concertina performance.

ConcertinaMusic.com
is a web site devoted to the promotion and preservation of the
chemnitzer concertina. This site features an extensive library
of free sheet music, a collection of nostalgic and historic
items, and some technical essentials. You will also find information
on chemnitzer concertina clubs, honorary organizations and people
associated with the instrument; a brief history of the chemnitzer,
a database of manufacturer records, documentation of recent
instrument sales transactions and more.
All of the arrangements in
the sheet music library feature special notation for the chemnitzer
concertina. Though the music has been arranged for this instrument,
many professional and amateur musicians who play other musical
instruments also enjoy these compositions. Visitors find this
web site a valuable resource for both popular and hard to find
polkas, waltzes, obereks, fox trots and other styles of music.
Please use the convenient
navigation links at the top and left-side of each page to find
your way to the many features on ConcertinaMusic.com.
The Search function is available on each page as is the link
to web site Help. Please
contact us if you
require any special assistance or if you have any comments or
questions regarding chemnitzer concertinas or this web site.
