RECORDED MUSIC
HAWKWOOD CONCERTINA BAND
Music
from the 17th to 21st centuries, celebrating the
concertina band revival.
In April 2009, twenty-four musicians gathered at Hawkwood College in the Cotswolds (United Kingdom) to record a wide-ranging selection of music arranged for treble, baritone and bass concertinas. This is the first commercial recording by a full concertina band for some seven decades.
Encompassing Victorian and Edwardian favorites, through early consort music, classics, dance tunes and marches and a modern composition, these recordings allow you to explore and enjoy the historic sound of the concertina band in all its variety and versatility.
The CD is lavishly produced with histories and photos of the concertina, of the old concertina bands, and of Hawkwood Concertina Band. It is a unique document of a musical living tradition.

WEE WILLIE BAND
Dance
to the music of the Wee Willie Band as they play for
you from the bottom of their hearts. The band has
been nominated for the Minnesota Ballroom Operators
Association's Band of the Year eight times and
awarded twice. Band leader William Makovsky (on
concertina) hails from south central Minnesota where
he grew up playing music with his family for
weddings, dances, and threshing parties. The music
is flavored with an electronic concertina, drums,
guitar, and bass horn. The band would like to remind
you "smiles are free."
The Wee Willie Band has seven different CD's to pick from. There are around 25 tunes on each disc. The band plays a mixture of polkas, waltzes, country and other old-time music. Cost is only $15.00 each, which includes postage to addresses in the United States.
